Del Valle defeated Crowley Friday morning, 1-0, earning head coach Bruce Reichman his 500th career victory. His Career Record — 500 wins – 140 losses – 10 ties!
Del Valle is hoping for their fifth trip to the Final Four and to bring back a third state championship title. He is the 39th boys' soccer coach in the United States to ever reach that milestone of 500 victories. Significantly, every victory has been earned while a coach at Del Valle. Reichman is a charter faculty member and with 27 years of service, he is the only men’s soccer coach in the history of the school.
Coach Reichman has earned numerous honors at Del Valle including Who's Who of American Teachers and the El Paso Times Coach of the Year in 1992, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005, and 2008. He was also the 2008 National Federation of High Schools State Coach of the Year and Sectional Coach of the Year alongside the 2008 UIL Texas State Coach of the Year. He was inducted in to the El Paso Athletic Hall of fame in 2009. He ranks third in the State of Texas amongst active coaches with the most wins and he ranks first all-time in the City of El Paso with 499 career wins which include; 65 championship titles: 15 – District Championship Titles, 8 - Bi-District Championship Titles, 13 – Area Championship Titles, 7 – Sectional Championship Titles, 8 – Quarter Final Championship Titles, 6 – Sweet 16 Championship Titles, 4 – Elite 8 Championship Titles, 4 – Final Four Appearances, and 2 – State Championships.
Reichman and his Conquistadores face the winner of San Elizario v Rider. That game, too, will be played at noon in Wichita Falls.
