EL PASO -- The Texas Education Agency just completed a financial audit for the Burnham Wood Charter School District that could affect the accreditation status of the district.
The agency confirmed they completed the audit this past March. They said the audit will also include information that will be given to the accreditation review board.
From there the board will decide whether or not to approve the district's currently pending accreditation status.
The district, which operates Howard Burnham Elementary, Da Vinci School for the Science and the Arts, and Vista Del Futuro, has already sent emails to parents informing them of the accreditation issue and the audit.
The Burnham Wood Charter School District said in the email, the investigation from TEA began after disgruntled former employees complained.
We have made several attempts to contact district officials on the matter, but each time we are told to leave our number to set up an appointment and they will call us back.
None of our phone calls have been returned.
