After leading the New Mexico State defense as a sophomore and junior, Donte Savage was forced to redshirt the 2011 season due to academic concerns. Now in his final year in the program, he could be a major factor in leading the Aggies to their first bowl game since 1960.
"I have my own personal goals but I can't really say that right now. But the teams goal is to win games. That's what we are trying to do," said Savage.
Head Coach DeWayne Walker made no bones about how he felt of his Senior defensive end.
"He's a vet. He's been around here and taken some bumps and bruises," said Walker. " He's a heck of a football player and may arguable be the best football player, not only on defense, but on the whole team."
NMSU continues Spring practice until April 28th when they hold their Crimson and White game at Aggie Memorial Stadium.
