Fort Bliss, TX — It might not be the first thing a soldier thinks of, but when they sign up for duty and for foreign combat, one perk is that they might one day get a box of Girl Scout cookies.
At Fort Bliss Thursday, soldiers and Girl Scouts worked together to stack more than 9,100 boxes of cookies that were scheduled to be distributed overseas.
The Girls Scouts sold all of these cookies and the buyers donated them back, even the thin mints.
Our men and women in uniform are the real heroes but many organizations support them, including the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest.
