EL PASO — Health care providers, first responders, law enforcement and public health agencies are coming together to host the first ever Suicide Prevention Regional Summit.
It will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at the Ysleta Del Sur Tribal Judicial Court located at 9241 Socorro Rd.
The purpose of the event is to train the participating agencies to identify people who are at high risk of suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among people ages 15-24, and t is the 11th leading cause of death overall.
More than 200 participants are expected to attend.
