Eating white rice several times a week may increase your risk for type two diabetes.
Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health studied the diets and health of adults in Asian countries, and in the United States and Australia. They found the risk for developing diabetes goes up ten percent with each additional serving of white rice a day.
The studies did not look at why this link exists, but experts said white rice can cause a sudden spike in blood sugar and is low in fiber.
