LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department stepped up patrols along U.S. Highway 70 east of Las Cruces, joining other law enforcement agencies to reduce speed along one of the county’s most traveled roads.
Between Feb. 9 to March 4, a total of 1,486 citations were issued on Highway 70 east of I-25. Those tickets included infractions for proof of registration and insurance documentation and proper licensing as well as speeding.
In addition, 19 arrests were made.
Enhanced patrols will continue.
