EL PASO — A man was killed after deputies said a driver ran a stop sign and hit an SUV in Montana Vista.
Deputies said Fernando Varela was driving a Ford Mustang when he ran the stop sign on Marvin and Buntline at 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
They said Varela struck a Chevy Surburban, carrying six people.
Sergio Aguayo, 36, who was riding in the front seat of the Surburban, died.
No word on what charges the driver of the mustang might face. Deputies said speed and alcohol are possible factors in the crash.
