EL PASO - The growth of UTEP and the Westside has led to another new road project.
The Texas Department of Transportation and the City of El Paso have approved a $73 million project to connect Paisano and I-10 from the Schuster exit and hopefully, that will improve the traffic flow on the Westside.
"If you live in the Upper Valley or if you're in downtown, where we are now, you don't have to get on the interstate to get to the university or into the Kern Place or Mesa Street generally. It gets you through us-85 or Paisano and gets you above the freeway," Daryl Cole of the city of El Paso's Department of Transportation said.
The design for the new connector route should be finished in 2013, construction would start after that.
