EL PASO - A Central El Paso home goes up in flames with an elderly woman and a 6-year old boy still inside.
Firefighters rushed to the 3200 block of Louisville Avenue just before nine on Sunday morning. There, they found part of a home on fire. The two people were already safe outside.
About 27 firefighters stopped the flames from spreading, but the fire still caused a lot of damage.
"There is significant damage throughout the whole house, especially the first and second rooms," El Paso Fire Department Lt. Javier Herrera said. "There was heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the house."
Damages top 90-thousand dollars.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire.
The woman and child were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but we're told they were not injured.
