EL PASO - According to researchers, cases of sexually transmitted diseases have risen among seniors.
Recent statistics show STD's in 50-90 year olds has doubled over the past decade, including HIV.
Experts are not sure why, but speculate that the increasing use of erectile dysfunction drugs may be responsible. They also add that older women are physically more vulnerable to these diseases.
Researchers said sexually active adults need to be aware they are still at risk for potentially dangerous STD's, and that doctors should discuss these risks with patients asking for erectile dysfunction drugs.
