FT. BLISS - Our servicemen and women sacrifice so much for us; how about we give something back?
Some of our troops have died in combat. Many more are seriously hurt, and need blood to survive their injuries. That's why Ft. Bliss is holding a blood drive tomorrow.
It goes from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at 3rd Brigade Headquarters. The blood collected will be sent to military members serving in Afghanistan, and to one particular soldier who was injured by an IED, and lost his hand and both of his legs.
"He is doing very well, recovering at Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio...and his wish because he survived, is for everybody to go out and donate blood. He's very, very grateful for the blood that he received,” said Lori Kuczmanski, a blood program coordinator.
That blood drive is tomorrow, January 20th from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at 3rd Brigade Headquarters on post.
