Swine flu isn't the only virus we have to be wary of in the coming months. A mosquito in El Paso has tested positive for West Nile. You may recall last year more than a dozen cases of West Nile turned up in the Sun City, mostly in Central El Paso and the Lower Valley. The virus caused no deaths.
West Nile is potentially deadly. It flares up in the summer and continues into the fall. Symptoms resemble the flu: high fever, stiff neck, tremors, and sore muscles.
