CANUTILLO - A borderland teacher has pleaded guilty to possessing child porn. The Canutillo Middle School educator entered his plea today in federal court.
Joachim Rudolfo Hees faces between five to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced.
In December of 2008, FBI agents raided his home and found hundreds of pictures and videos of child porn on his home computers.
A grand jury indicted Hees on child porn charges last year.
He began working as computer teacher at Canutillo Middle School in 2006, but Canutillo school district leaders put him on paid administrative leave last year after he was arrested on drug charges.
He was then assigned as a computer technician with the district. Since then, Hees has resigned from the school district.
Tonight, he remains in federal custody, and is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
