Feds: More People Trying to Bring Illegal Food into the U.S.

According to federal officers, there's an increase of people trying to smuggle illegal food into the United States.

One such incident happened about a week ago at the Paso Del Norte port of entry.

Officers discovered 10 wheels of cheese hidden in the wall of a spare tire; the driver told an officer he had nothing to declare, but had 116 pounds of that cheese in his car.

We're told the driver was given a hefty fine. It's illegal to bring certain foods from Mexico into the U.S.

Customs and Border Protection said they've seen 21 smuggling attempts since december 28th of last year.
