You have an extra two days to file your federal income tax return this year.
The IRS has postponed the April 15th date to April 17th. That's because this year, April 15th falls on a Sunday, when you can't mail a return, and Monday the 16th, is Emancipation Day in Washington, D.C., so the IRS will have that day off.
