EL PASO - Remember that snow storm that hit last week? It left a lot of damage behind.
"When the weather is slippery, icy, or snowy, shops in El Paso usually get a little busier," Sergio Lewis said.
Workers at the Sergio Lewis Body Shop in East El Paso are now fixing some of the damage.
"There's a lot of bumper-to-bumper damage, like fender bender type damage," Lewis said.
There's also a lot of damage people can't see because it's underneath the car.
"On the most part we've been getting a lot of suspension and frame damage, unibody damage they call it. This comes with the bad weather, slippery streets," Lewis said.
"Our phones have been ringing off the hook," body shop Manager Norma Jean Magana said.
Drivers are calling in to share their business and stories of what happened.
"I just tell them, you know, it's typical. Things happen, unfortunately. We all go through it," Magana said.
The Sergio Lewis Body Shop is booked for the next three weeks, and more drivers are scheduling appointments. It's good business for the body shop, especially in a tough economy. Although, employees and the owner seem more concerned about the safety of their customers, than making money.
"Thank God after 40-years in the business people remember us in this type of weather, but we always send out our best of wishes to everybody and hope that everybody is safe," Lewis said.
