EL PASO- The Sun Bowl Teams spent their first full days in town.
Both teams have been busy since arriving in El Paso yesterday. While Georgia Tech and Utah players practiced, their families got a taste of El Paso. We met with the families while they bought their cowboy boots at world famous Lucchese's outlets.
"When I saw on the itinerary that that's what we were gonna be doing, that's what I look the most forward to for sure. I've been really excited about all the boots I've seen a ton of boot stores as we've been driving around and stuff, " said a Utah football player's wife, Jessica Bergstrom. She says she loves the weather here in El Paso. "It's a beautiful place, we really like it so far."
Marci Radakovich, the wife of the Georgia Tech Athletic Director, says she plans on buying a couple of pairs of boots today. "We're so excited to be here in El Paso. I lived in Texas for six years and never bought boots, so this is my chance to buy real cowboy boots."
Lucchese boots has been part of the Sun Bowl tradition for the past six years. "I mean it's one of the biggest events here in El Paso so we're just proud to be part of that. We're the boot capital of the world here in El Paso, so when they come in, it's something that they can take back with them. It brings us a lot of business to our stores, not just Lucchese but other businesses and stuff so it's a good thing for El Paso."
