Guys like Tornillo High School's Isaac Elias and Clint's Rolando Parra are what the Senior Showcase weekend is all about. Honoring the student athlete who excels on and off the football field, and come Friday, both will get a rare opportunity to showcase their talents in front of college scouts. Most scouts do not make it to the 2A and 3A High School Football games, so both are very aware and appreciative of what the Senior Showcase is bringing them.
Clint's Rolando Parra said, "It's just an opportunity of a lifetime, I have always wanted to be a part of this family, the Senior All-Star game, and it's been a dream. I thank God I have accomplished it." Elias likes the competition against the bigger schools. "High skill you know. It's no different in Tornillo, but it's more intense over here, the practices are pretty intense, we go all out you know."
Senior football players from the 33 El Paso County high schools take part in an exciting football combine and football game highlighted with a spectacular pre-game and dazzling halftime festivities which include outstanding football players, cheerleaders, band members, dance/drill teams, ROTC cadets, and choir members. The Senior All Star Football Classic is supported by a dedicated all volunteer committee, coaching staff, and generous sponsors.
