After opening the season with seven of its first nine games on the road, the New Mexico State men's basketball team begins a five-game home stand against Western New Mexico, Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. inside the Pan American Center. The game will be shown live on AggieVision and broadcast across New Mexico on Comcast, Altitude, KVIA 24/7 (Channel 7.3), ESPN Full Court and ESPN3.com. The game is available on KGRT 104 FM with the 'Voice of the Aggies' Jack Nixon, and the pregame show starts 30 minutes prior to tip. The contest is also available in Spanish on Vista 98 FM with Martin Cortez.
The Aggies are 5-4 this season following a 73-69 loss at UTEP, Dec. 11. NM State has three players in double figures with redshirt senior Wendell McKines leading the way with 16.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Christian Kabongo adds 15.3 points per contest, while senior guard Hernst Laroche provides 10.9 points per game.
Scouting Western New Mexico
The Mustangs are 2-5 this season after a 66-56 win over Western State, Dec.10. Junior forward Chad Carter has a team-high 16.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. Senior guard TJ Riley adds 15.3 points per game, while junior guard/forward Lucio Luttrell, a Las Cruces native, contributes 12.4 points per game.
The Aggies have a 61-23-1 all-time lead in the series. Last year, NM State defeated the Mustangs, 95-62, Nov. 15, 2010 in Las Cruces.

Aggies Clipped at UTEP
In the second game of the Sonic Battle of 1-10, NM State fell at UTEP, 73-69, Dec. 11. Senior guard Hernst Laroche led the Aggies with a season-high 16 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the 3-point line. Junior forward Tyrone Watson was also in double figures with a season-high 11 points.
