EL PASO- In light of the bustling holiday shopping season, the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department is reminding the public to recycle their plastic bags and flatten cardboard boxes.
Plastic bags must be recycled in bundles. Multiple empty plastic bags should be placed in one bag.
Cardboard boxes must be flattened. Boxes that are not flattened tend to prevent the bin’s lid from closing. Bins with open lids and/or overflowing materials are not picked up because the bin’s contents and can easily fall to the ground during collection and collection trucks struggle to compact large cardboard boxes that aren’t already flattened.
If you have extra recyclables you may take them to a Citizen Collection Station (CCS) located at:
• 4501 Hondo Pass
• 2492 Harrison
• 121 Atlantic
• 4200 Delta
• 1034 Pendale
There is not fee for using the drop-off site for recyclables. Learn more visit: www.RecycleElPaso.org [1].
