The El Paso Diabetes Association says it's not going anywhere. Allegations surfaced last month that the association was in danger of closing because of financial problems. Today, those in charge said there are money problems but the diabetes association will stay open with help.
The state also said the association was illegally dispensing insulin to low-income people. The state said the association needs a pharmacy license to do that. It had given out insulin for 15 years but the executive director of the diabetes association said he will comply with the state's order.
