If you're trying to get gifts to your loved ones by mail, the clock is ticking.
Today is "Green Monday."
It's one of the busiest days of the year for shipping companies and if you haven't sent out your package yet you could end up spending 30 to 50% more to get it there by Christmas.
After this week, ground delivery won't be an option for most people but keeping boxes small could help save you money.
"The zip code that it's going to, the dimensions and the weight. And of course, the larger the box, the more volume it takes on the airplane, which is air space so it does get a little more expensive even if it was a light package," Pete Armendariz said.
Armendariz says his Postal Annex store on the Westside has extended hours until 7 p.m. to help with shipping packages.
it's also open on Sunday.
