EL PASO - A group of local artists is trying to beautify Downtown El Paso by covering an abandoned building with art.
Today the artists were painting and putting up posters on the building in the 600 block of North Oregon. They're calling their work a "Temple to the Future, " and today they explained why.
"The message is pretty much what the artists think their vision of the future is for El Paso and the Borderland," Alex Duran said.
The artists are from El Paso and Juarez, so they're also putting up peoples portraits to signify unity between people, borders and self-identity.
If you want to check out the artwork in person, you better do it soon. The artists say when they asked for permission to use the building, the owner said okay, but warned them it's about to be torn down.
