Federal agents say millions of dollars, thousands of pounds of drugs and more than 700 people are arrested in a nationwide sting. Investigators say they are all tied to a Mexican drug cartels. That cartel is all too well known here: the Sinaloa Cartel.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says some of those arrests were made in Mexico. It was all part of a 21-month-long investigation called Operation Xcellerator.
Holder says nearly $60 million in illegal drug proceeds have been seized, along with more than 12,000 kilos of cocaine, 1,200 lbs. of methamphetamine, more than one million ecstasy pills and more than 160 weapons.
