This December 1 is World Aids Day.
Locally organizations are raising awareness of aids which has been a scourge for 30 years now.
The La Fe Clinic is spending the day at Basset Place offering free HIV tests.
According to local health experts, Hispanics represent 17% of newly diagnosed HIV case in the U.S.
La Fe is also trying to spread the word about HIV prevention to help the stop the spread of the virus.
"If you think you are not to be concerned about HIV that itself, that belief makes you more at risk for HIV you need to get tested you need to get educated you need to take action," Estela Reyes, spokesperson for La Fe said.
The clinic is giving free tests until 7 p.m.
