CANUTILLO--- A widow and her six children received the gift of a lifetime Sunday; a brand new home.
The home was built in Canutillo by Habitat for Humanity volunteers, where Rebecca Hernandez and her six kids had been living in a mobile home.
She submitted an application for a new home and was amazed as to how many volunteers helped her build it, she said.
She wants her kids to remember that kind gesture forever.
"I think it was really neat for them to see and they can appreciate more what they have now because they can see that people have made a difference, so I want them to go forth in their lives so they too can go and make a difference for other people," said Hernandez.
It took five months to build the entire home.
