The UTEP women’s basketball team has teamed up with Sonic for a ticket promotion and will hold the first of its three “Grand Prize Giveaway Nights,” in an attempt to make it a very special evening in the Battle of I-10 against NM State at the Don Haskins Center at 7:05 p.m. MST Tuesday.
All fans that go to their local Sonic in El Paso and make any purchase will receive one voucher that can be used to get in free to the contest, where they will be able to put a ticket into the random drawing in which they could win an iPad2 or several other premium items (i.e. gift cards, autographed jerseys and much more).
The Miners (5-0) are off to the best start of the Keitha Adams era and the second-best opening overall in program history. UTEP is coming off a 80-49 pummeling of previously unbeaten Denver (4-1), 80-49, at home on Nov. 26.
With the sponsorship of Sonic, it will be easier than ever to be a part of the festivities. The official sponsor of the Battle of I-10, there are 15 locations throughout the city. Fans are also encouraged to show their support for the Miners by voting for them in the Battle of I-10 favorite team poll, which can be accessed at www.UTEPAthletics.com .
UTEP claimed the first round of this year’s Sonic Battle of I-10 by toppling NM State, 76-72, at the Pan-American Center on Nov. 16. The Miners will be looking to sweep the Aggies for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
