EL PASO- An East El Paso neighborhood continued a 50 year tradition today.
The residents on Eastridge Street in East El Paso started decorating for Christmas today. It has been a tradition since the 1960's. The day after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the Christmas season for the community. Neighbors say at least 100 homes decorate with Christmas lights every year.
"Two gentlemen that lived over on Cartway, they started in a competition between themselves and it's progressed from there to where everybody does it now, " said Ed Hazelton, a 12 year resident on Eastridge.
Neighbors say thousands of people come to see the decorated street every year.
