EL PASO - Thanksgiving might be over, but the Black Friday deals are in full swing.
Hundreds of people stood in line for hours Thursday night to get the best deals.
Newschannel 9 was at the El Paseo Marketplace on Joe Battle and Zaragoza at midnight. Some shoppers said they lined up starting at 8 p.m. Thursday for deals at stores like Best Buy, Target and others.
Joseph Arvizu had a list of the people and items he was shopping for.
"Everything. Christmas shopping for grandparents, nephews and everything in between" he said.
Leslie Ann Maxwell has no regrets about how she spent her morning.
"So far, it's been worth it. Walmart was really chaotic, everyone got trampled. My aunt got a cut on her finger, my cousin got a bruise on his head. Target's been too long, I'm excited to see if they have a lot of merchandise. We got some good deals, but it's worth it so I would do it again" she said.
Black Friday deals are expected to continue throughout Friday morning. Some stores will have sales throughout the day.
David Ujuta was visiting El Paso from Louisiana and he said that despite the large crowds, El Paso shoppers were friendly.
"Well El Paso has grown so much since I've left that its just more people, everybody just wants to shop. There's good prices on everything so everybody's out. It's safe, everyone had a good time. Everyone was laughing and joking in line, so we made some friends on the way in" he said.
