FORT BLISS, TX - Hundreds of Fort Bliss soldiers deployed to Iraq, returned home Tuesday night, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Family and friends greeted the arrival of 350 Fort Bliss troops after 4 month stint in Iraq.
"I'm just kind of overwhelmed with joy because i've missed my dad for so long," Desiree Ramos said while waiting for her Dad. "Now we're all gonna be a big family, and we're gonna get to eat on Thanksgiving together. So, I'm just really excited."
After a 17 hour plane ride, most soldiers were excited to return to a home cooked meal.
"I'm gonna eat," Cpt. Guillermo Rovayo said. "And just sleep a little bit and just be with (family) the whole weekend."
There's sure to be plenty more happy homecomings like Tuesday's in the weeks to come, as President Obama has pledged to have all the troops out of Iraq by the end of the year.
