The UTEP football team will close out its 2011 home schedule on Saturday afternoon against Tulsa on “Senior Day” in the Sun Bowl.
The game will kick off at 1 p.m. MT.
The Miners (5-5, 2-4 C-USA) are a win away from securing bowl eligibility for the second straight season. Tulsa (7-3, 6-0 C-USA) is tied for first place in C-USA’s Western Division and riding a six-game winning streak.
The Miners’ 22 seniors who will be honored on Saturday are RB Joe Banyard, DB Antwon Blake, LS Matt Camilli, WR Russell Carr, LB Isaiah Carter, DL Jamie Fehoko, RB Vernon Frazier, LB Greg Holleman, WR Donavon Kemp, DL Yahchaaroah Lightbourne, WR Julio Lopez, K Kevin Lopez, OL Nathan McCage, RB Leilyon Myers, DB Travaun Nixon, DL Bernard Obi, WR Monroe Ross, K Mike Scott, LB Royzell Smith, QB Tate Smith, LB Jeremy Springer and WR Cliff Tucker.
General admission tickets are only $10 and are available by calling 747-5234.
Saturday is also “Take a Kid to the Game Day.” Fans can receive one child ticket free with the purchase of an adult ticket in the Bronze Reserved section.
The first 5,000 fans will receive foam fingers courtesy of Academy Sports.
