That topic was up for discussion with City Council, banning the bad fat from menu items and requirring the use of a healthly alternative known as zero trans fat. The item however, was deleted from the agenda. City Council Representative Emma Acosta explained that the El Paso Restaurant Association would like to take this to the state level, a move that could ban the bad fats from restaurants statewide.
