EL PASO- Today is the last day you can help an El Paso couple win a dream wedding.
Preston Young and his fiancé Marilyn Courtney Raudry first met in fifth grade at Mesita Elementary and had their first date in eighth grade. Soon after that, Preston’s family moved to Colorado, but they kept in touch. Preston entered the military and was deployed to Afghanistan and that drew them closer.
It was a rough deployment. We went through a lot. A lot of close calls and stuff and I’m happy she was there for me. She was writing letters, sending e-mails and that's what kept me up during the deployment,” says Preston.
“I'm very proud of Preston for what he's done for us. He came back with a purple heart and a bronze star for valor in Afghanistan. We really love each other and want this opportunity," says Marilyn.
The couple is one of the finalists in a national contest. You can vote on Facebook [2]. You can also watch their contest video here [3].
