EL PASO--- We're learning more about the moments just before a helicopter crashed in Mcgregor Range last week.
The National Transportation and Safety Board released its preliminary report.
According to the report, "Personnel on the ground attempted to make radio contact with the helicopter but were not successful."
Pilot William Montgomery and Paramedics John Sutter and Anthony Archuleta were on a training exercise for Southwest Med Evac, a contracted emergency medical service for Fort Bliss.
Shortly after losing contact with personnel on the ground, the helicopter nose dived and crashed.
The report says the weather was clear and the area was free from any obstacles.
