UPDATE 2:48 p.m.: Police have released the name of the woman who was killed after she was struck by a vehicle.
Police say Kimberly Esparza, 32, was walking home with her husband from a nearby bar and for reasons yet not known, the woman laid down on east bound lanes of the street.
EL PASO - Police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in east El Paso overnight.
According to investigators, a 31-year-old hispanic woman died after she was hit by a dark-colored SUV. The SUV did not stop.
According to Officer Javier Sambrano with the El Paso Police Department, the accident happened at about 1:20 a.m. Monday on Pebble Hills Blvd. and Roy Pace Dr.
"At this moment, we're continuing the investigation as far as the circumstances of how the female ended up out here at this intersection" said Sambrano.
Police have not released the victim's name.
Investigators are asking witnesses to call EPPD if they saw anything.
"Anybody that may have seen a dark-colored SUV leaving the area, or knows of a vehicle that may have some type of damage, we need them to come forward and give us a call" said Sambrano.
