SAN PATRICIO COUNTY, TEXAS- A man was shot and killed by a US Border Patrol agent after he used a vehicle to try to run over the agent during a traffic stop Thursday near Mathis.
Authorities said the driver did not stop and tried to run an agent over so the agent shot him in the chest. Police say the vehicle contained at least five undocumented immigrants who ran out of the vehicle after the initial traffic stop. Police said three or four people had been located and detained.
No agents were injured in the incident.
The FBI, Texas Rangers, and Border Patrol investigate the shooting.
