PORTLAND, TX - A Texas prosecutor is looking into possible charges in a story that's caused a national uproar.
By now, many of you have seen the video of a Portland, Texas judge repeatedly beating his daughter, Hillary Adams, with a belt. The beating happened seven years ago.
Hillary Adams told The Today Show's Matt Lauer that she only dared to post the video online now.
"I waited seven years because back then, I was still a minor, living under his roof. Releasing it then...I don't know what would have happened to me or my mother, or my little sister. So waiting until today, seven years later...has enabled me to pull away and be able to distance myself from the consequences,” said Adams.
However, it may be difficult to prosecute the judge because the case has exceeded the statute of limitations.
