EL PASO - Texas voters will soon decide the future of Parks and Recreation in El Paso County.
If passed by state voters, Proposition 7 would amend the Texas Constitution to allow El Paso County to create conservation and reclamation districts. Those districts could then develop parks and recreational facilities that would ultimately be paid for by taxpayers.
Supporters say the amendment is needed because the City of El Paso's current Parks system, which is also used by the county, is underfunded. Those against the measure say it only allows El Paso County to tax it's citizens even more.
Voters will decide on November 8, 2011.
