LAS CRUCES- Police have arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of manufacturing, possessing and distributing child pornography.
Isidro “Jay” Gutierrez, 26, is charged with 15 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. The charges include five counts each of manufacturing, possession and distribution.
Police learned that several images and videos of child pornography either originated from or were sent to Gutierrez’s home computer from a file-sharing network. The computer was identified by its IP address.
In June 2011 Las Cruces Police investigators obtained a search warrant for Gutierrez’s home and took possession of his computer. The computer forensics examiner confirmed the existence of child pornography on the computer and investigators determined that Gutierrez was its primary user.
Gutierrez was arrested on a warrant on Thursday, Oct. 13, and was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $100,000.
