New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced today that he is not running for president.
The republican ended weeks of speculation that he might jump into the GOP field. Gov. Christie is a former U.S. attorney who made a political splash when he became New Jersey's governor two years ago.
He said he might want to run for president in the future, but not in 2012.
"Now is not my time. I have a commitment to New Jersey that I simply will not abandon," said Gov. Christie.
Christie said he may endorse a candidate for the republican nomination.
