SOCORRO- High school seniors in Socorro have a really nice incentive to attend school this year.
The district and Viva Suzuki will give a new car to a senior with great attendance, drawing the winning name from a basket. The new ride is a Suzuki SX4 worth more than $16,000. This is part of Socorro's “Make it Count” program.
"I encourage all students to take an interest in this campaign to come to school every day, not just because of the car but because it's the right thing to do and it prepares you for life after high school," says Dr. Xavier De La Torre, SISD Superintendent.
There are 7,000 seniors in SISD Perfect attendance isn’t a requirement, but seniors only have to show up every day for five consecutive months.
