LAS CRUCES- Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information about the homicide of a Las Cruces man and a failed attempt to destroy evidence with a house fire.
Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the death of 62-year-old Jack L. Hadley whose body was discovered Friday afternoon.
On the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 23, Dona Ana County Sheriff’s deputies and the Las Alturas Fire Department responded to a fire at Hadley’s residence, at 5651 Camino Escondida, in the Las Alturas subdivision just south of Las Cruces. Hadley’s body was discovered inside the residence after the fire was extinguished.
Dona Ana County Sheriff investigators believe the fire was set to destroy evidence and that it did not contribute to Hadley’s death. The cause of Hadley’s death is yet to be determined but there was sufficient evidence for the investigation to proceed as a homicide.
If you have any information that may be relevant to investigators you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).
The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
