Dona Ana Authorities Suspect Homicide in Afternoon House Fire

DONA ANA COUNTY- The Dona Ana Sheriff’s office is investigating a structure fire as a suspected homicide this afternoon.

Fire crews were dispatched around 1:30 this afternoon to the 5600 block of Camino Escondida in response to a structure fire.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned the fire had already been extinguished and discovered the body of a dead man inside. The fire was contained to a small area within the home and did not contribute to the death. The fire appears to be an attempt to burn evidence.
