The New Mexico State women's golf team moved up three spots on the leaderboard and is now tied for 13th with a 623 after two rounds of play at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge.
The Aggies carded a 311 on Tuesday at the Red Sky Golf Club (Frazier Course) and is tied with Georgia State. NM State is just two strokes behind Kennesaw State, while Oregon moved into first place in the 19-team field. The Ducks are carrying a two-round score of 601, while Denver and Pepperdine at tied for second five stokes behind.
NM State sophomore Meike Canan played well in windy conditions and is now tied for 23rd after bringing in a 3-over-par 75 in round two. She made four birdies in the round after carding three on the first day of play.
Senior Ashley Elias has a 154 (74-80) after two days of play and dropped to a tie for 33rd. Freshman Demi Mak improved her play by four strokes and comes in tied for 50th with a 158 (81-77).
Junior Aileen Meredith moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard and is tied for 70th with a 162 (83-79), as sophomores Amelie Buhl rounds out the Aggie lineup coming in tied for 81 with a 168 (80-88).
Mississippi's Natialie Gleadall and Pepperdine's Grace Na are tied for first with a 1-under-par 143 (69-74).
