You can catch all of your favorite Disney characters this weekend without having to leave the Sun City.
Disney Live! Three Classic Fairy Tales is coming to the Abraham Chavez Theater. And they say this is a timeless show that the entire family can enjoy.
The performance takes Mickey, Minnie and 25 of their pals on an unexpected quest to find a magical storybook. "It's a beautiful show for kids, young kids to parents to grandparents; beautiful set design, beautiful lighting," said Disney Live! performer Norm Ofstead.
The story line also involves three princesses. "We have 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. We have 'Cinderella'. And then of course, 'Beauty and the Beast," said Ofstead
Ofstead plays Lumière, the candle stick from 'Beauty and the Beast'. His musical number "Be our Guest" is an audience favorite. "When I start the song, 'be', before I say the word 'our', I can already hear the audience saying 'our guest' before I even get to it. So the kids and the parents, they know the story. They know the songs," said Ofstead.
El Paso is the third stop in the crew's tour which takes them all over North America. "We travel with a company of 45, including our cast, our crew and our staff. We travel on five buses all over the U.S. and we have four trucks that carry all of our sets and costumes," said Ofstead
Ofstead said he loves bringing the Disney magic to different towns. "Not everyone is able to get to the parks in Anaheim, so for some kids, this is the only opportunity they'll have to see these characters live and in person in front of them onstage," said Ofstead
And he says the show provides the entire family with a magical opportunity to create life-long memories. "It's a great way for a family to come together and bond and see classic stories on stage in front of their eyes," said Ofstead
Disney Live! Three Classic Fairy Tales will have six shows this weekend. Friday's 7:00 p.m. opening night has a special price of $15.
On Saturday there are three shows: 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
There are two shows Sunday: 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
