El Paso, Texas – The City of El Paso Department of Public Health will offer vaccines for adults and children, including the flu vaccine for children.
“We want to make sure we vaccinate as many children as possible before we start seeing a lot of flu cases in El Paso” said Roxann Parks, Nursing Program Manager. “While we don’t offer the adult version of the vaccine, we want to protect some of the most vulnerable which are children ages 0-18 years old,” she said.
Parks said adults should ask their health care providers if they would like the flu vaccine.
The department offers the children's flu vaccine in the nasal mist form and they will not administer it to children with asthma.
Staff will also provide: DTAP, HEP A, Polio, MMR, Varicella, and MCV vaccines.
The vaccines are offered Wednesday, September 14th at McDonald's at 1274 Horizon Boulevard from 2 to 5 p.m. Vaccines are $10 for one or $20 for two or more.
Clients must bring their immunization record, and for minors, the parent/guardian must have a picture ID to include documentation of guardianship. Cash, local checks, Medicaid, and CHIP will be accepted.
