Homeland Security Owes Texas $350 Million

SAN ANTONIO- Governor Rick Perry is still waiting on $350 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to reimburse the state for keeping illegal immigrants in prisons.

Perry says it is the federal government's responsibility to pay back the tax payers of the state of Texas. He feels the federal government's policies on securing our borders are ineffective. Perry also says the U.S. Department of Justice only reimburses Texas counties 67 percent of the actual cost the state pays to house all inmates.
