In a NewsChannel 9 update, the El Paso Independent School District tonight so far has not given us an interview as to whether they violated a teacher's contract after he went on sick leave.
We first brought you the story yesterday. Dennis Allie, 61, says after he went on a leave of absence, the school district gave his spot to another teacher and told him they didn't have a position for him. He says they broke district policy and his contract. Tonight he's without any source of income.
"I've been placed on a waiting list so when a position becomes available in my area will place me now what am I supposed to do up until that time if I'm not receiving any pay," said Dennis Allie.
The teacher's union is looking into Allie's case. We are also working to get answers from the district.
