Study: The more TV you watch, the more likely you are to die of heart disease...
Spending lots of time in front of the TV increases the chance you live a shorter life.
Researchers in Australia followed nearly 9,000 adults for roughly seven years.
They monitored various health indicators, like blood pressure and cholesterol, and their TV habits.
They found for each hour spent in front of the television, the risk of death from all causes went up eleven percent.
The risk for a heart-related death went up by 18 percent.
Researchers say sedentary behavior, like watching TV or sitting in front of a computer, has an unhealthy influence on blood sugar and body fats.
They also found the risk applies to people of all sizes, and not just those who are overweight.
